Despacito was a track from the year 2017 released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It was the single that became the most streamed track in the world within the space of six months. It was a blend of reggaeton and pop that not only drew attention to Latin music but as well reggaeton. Billboard's Top 100 featured two songs that were Spanish predominantly, as well as four in the year 2016. In 2017, at the height of Despacito's popularity the track was one of 19 that mainly Spanish were included in the Billboard Top 100. In 2020, the number will increase to 41 hits within this genre. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 with a version in two languages. Soon, other artistes collaborated with Reggaeton's biggest stars such as Drake and Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma together with Medellin 2019 The mainstreaming of reggaeton was an issue for some artists in 2020. Rauw alejandro and a young generation, however, wanted to preserve the style. The incorporation of elements from electronic dance music and different styles was an accepted procedure.
